International Pilot Programme

Courses typically start every two months throughout the year, so you can enrol anytime.

Depending on the time of year, there are approximately 10-12 weeks between your initial application date and the start of flight training. This allows for enrolment administration and gives you the opportunity to gain the Class 1 Medical, attend the selection process, and relocate if necessary.

From enrolment to gaining a Commercial Pilots Licence will take you approximately 16-17 months. This is a full time course and the roster pattern for cadets  means you will be just as likely to fly on the weekend as you will during the week. Leave periods are incorporated within this timeframe.

The CTC Wings International Pilot Programme exceeds NZCAA Rule requirements with a total of 207.6 hours flight time excluding simulator flight time. More than 35 hours of your training time will be flown in multi-engine aircraft.

No - but, with our experience of supplying airlines with qualified pilots in the United Kingdom and using our strong New Zealand contacts, CTC will point you in the right direction and do our best to facilitate your route into an airline.

You will sit external aviation theory examinations and flight tests conducted by Aviation Services Limited (ASL). The PPL flight test is carried out by CTC's in-house Examiners

The CTC Wings International Pilot Programme is an intensive and demanding course and some people experience difficulties at various points along the way.

That's why you will take part in a comprehensive assessment and recording process, so that we can identify areas of concern early on and utilise a remedial training package to give you some extra help if required.

To match CTC's high-tech aircraft and simulators, our airline-type maintenance facility, and purpose built training centre, we pride ourself on having the most experienced and qualified instructors. These include 'A' Category Instructor/Examiners and JAA Qualified Instructors/Examiners.
