International Pilot Programme.
Basic Training
BASIC TRAINING (Approximate Duration: 70 weeks)
You will begin with basic training, which is completed at our Crew Training Centre in Hamilton, New Zealand.
During this phase you will complete:
- Your Private Pilot Licence and single engine navigation training
- Your Commercial Pilot Licence theory and navigation training
- Your Multi-Engine Instrument Rating
- Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) theory examinations

| Ground school with 6 PPL exams. General handling skills are developed flying single-engine aircraft. You'll also learn the fundamentals of visual flying, basic instrument flying, night flying, and navigation. Duration: 33 weeks (approx) |
Ground school covering 6 CPL theory exams. Your commercial navigation skills will be refined and you'll learn the non-technical skills of a professional pilot. Duration: 11 weeks (approx) |
Ground school with 3 IR theory exams. Instrument flying skills are developed in a state-of-the-art simulator and glass cockpit aircraft. You'll gain your Multi-Engine Instrument Rating and complete your CPL flight test. Duration: 18 weeks (approx) |
Ground school covering the 7 ATPL theory exams at the end of your flight training. By the end of your course you will be a fully qualified commercial pilot ready for jet training. Duration: 8 weeks (approx) |

- Our 19,000sq ft Crew Training Centre offers several flight simulators, briefing rooms, lecture rooms, planning and operation facilities.
- Clearways, New Zealand
- While you're training at Hamilton, you will have your own studio at our Clearways Crew Accommodation Centre for at least some of your training.
