About Clearways

CTC's five-building Crew Accommodation Centre – ‘Clearways’ - is situated just eight kilometres from our Crew Training Centre adjacent to Hamilton International Airport.

It is purpose-built to accommodate cadet trainees from our own ab-initio programme CTC Wings as well as tailored programmes delivered on behalf of our client airlines.  The atmosphere at 'Clearways' is buzzing!  Everyone is there for the same reason and the camaraderie between courses is fantastic.  It makes for a great learning and social environment.  Whilst there you will find that you are mixing with cadets from all around the world; those on either our European or New Zealand CTC Wings programmes, as well as trainees from our tailored airline programmes and the universities we work for.

Each of the five Clearways buildings is named after a famous classic airliner: Comet, Trident, Concorde, Britannia and Viscount.  The self-contained trainee accommodation facility accommodates a total of 128 trainees at any one time.

As compared to University or other student accommodation, the Clearways facility is one of the best equipped and modern student accommodation complexes in New Zealand. In each of the five buildings there is a central kitchen, laundry area,  storage and lounge; plus, each of the rooms is hooked up to broadband internet access.  Each building also has it's own barbecue area and most cadet rooms have gradually developed small garden areas around them over the years.  There are even a couple of 'Clearways' cats who have adopted the training centre over the years! 

One of the buildings also contains a full-size gym that rivals any commercial gym facility.  On site facilities also include a volleyball court and football pitch.

The university town of Hamilton is approximately 15 minutes' drive away.  A town with a very young feel, there are some great social and sporting facilities on hand and of course you have all that New Zealand has to offer right on your doorstep.  One of the most beautiful countries to explore - a real bonus to be living somewhere so special and progressing your career at the same time.  Who needs a gap year!? 

Peachgrove Studios

On occasions when the training activity is at its highest levels, some cadets may be accommodated at a nearby alternative accommodation complex called 'Peachgrove'.  Located at 48 Peachgrove Road, Hamilton; The Peachgrove Studios are a short drive to Hood Street where most of the social scene for Hamilton is based, and the university gym and swimming pool.  

The 54 studio rooms have the same facilities as rooms at 'Clearways'.The complex also offers on-site car parking and wireless internet connection.  Security is of a high standard, with the premises patrolled inside and outside 3 times per 24 hours.  All external entry/exits are automatically locked with access gained using your unique electronic tag.  On site property managers are available Monday through to Friday – with full after hours call out service and the CTC Base Operations housekeeper is on site three times per week.  The independent cadet counsellor is on site every fortnight.
Communal services such as Irons, Ironing Board and a separate CTC kitchen are available for CTC cadets and both common areas have TVs capable of attaching X Box etc.
A large BBQ is provided by CTC onsite, cadets must arrange gas for the bottle themselves!
